The name Zilpah also means To drip or To sprinkle: The name is also related to the Hebrew verb zalaph, which means "to drip" or "to sprinkle," referencing water or rain. 

Zilpah symbolizes themes of loyalty, sacrifice, the value of humble individuals, and the legacy of lineage, as the handmaid of Leah who bore Jacob's sons Gad and Asher, eventually becoming a mother to tribes of Israel. Though a secondary figure in the biblical narrative, her role as a substitute mother and the origins of two of the Israelite tribes highlight her significant, albeit often overlooked, contribution to the family and people of Israel.
